An un-serviced burner can result in the following
problems:
a soot filled boiler inhibiting the heat transfer to the central heating system, and also excessive air blowing heat up the flue. A significant percentage of the heat is then wastefully exhausted; incomplete combustion also means toxic carbon monoxide production. |

A clean, well adjusted burner/boiler will burn more efficiently thus saving on fuel costs. It will also burn cleaner, creating less pollution.
The following observations are indicative of inefficient burners which should be remedied as soon as possible for both economic and environmental reasons - black smoke, soot build up, excessive noise or oil odour (similar to jet fuel).
